GMShowcase Competition

GMNews apologizes for the time it has taken to post a new article, and will make an effort to ensure there is always up to date news in the future.
Want to win the Game Maker’s Apprentice book? Or even another Game Programming book? Well, perhaps this is your lucky day, GMShowcase is holding a Gaming Competition, read details below:

What do I have to do?
Well this is a competition where you have to get a good idea for a game… The sample chapter of Mark and Jacob’s book shows you how to write a game description… And that’s what you have to do. Sit down and get an idea for a game and write the description which must be at least 150 words (you will need this description when submitting your game). When you have got an idea and written a description all you have to do is to make the game.

The rules

  • Working in groups is allowed but only one prize will be given, independent of the size of the group, if the group wins.
  • The game you submit MUST NOT be more than 10 MB.
  • Your submission can be either the source of the game (*.gmd or *.gm6) or a compiled version (*.exe) – The submission form requires the file to be packed (*.zip or *.rar)
  • You don’t have to submit a finished game – a WIP (Work in Progress) version is okay but the gameplay must be featured
